Training activities for future commanders of armored-armored units

The second lieutenants of the 199th “Dare” course returned to the Cavalry School of Lecce for the second phase of the Technical Application Course (CTA), which represents one of the most important moments in the specialization path of the officers of the Cavalry.

The CTA aims to complete the preparation of officers as deputy company / squadron commanders, aiming to acquire the necessary skills for the management of human resources, weapon systems, means and materials at company level , and to provide the basic regulatory, procedural and doctrinal tools related to the functioning of a staff at regimental level.

The training program followed by the second lieutenants, developed ad hoc to achieve the training objectives of the weapon specialties, includes theoretical lessons on topics such as "Immediate Close Air Support", "Cultural Awareness" and "Counter IED", and practical lessons for the issue of certificates and related special qualifications to drive the multi-role light tactical vehicle (VTLM) Lynx and the platform Ram, which will be added to the one previously obtained on the busway Centaur.

In addition, lessons are provided at the Torre Veneri shooting range, to obtain qualification for shooting with the platforms supplied by the Cavalry weapon.

This training process is carried out in the presence, in full compliance with the provisions issued on the subject of contrasting and containing the spread of COVID-19.
