The 7th Alpine Regiment of the Alpine Brigade “Julia” completed a year full of significant activities, highlighting the importance of continuous training and operational preparation in extreme and multi-domain environments.

Among the most relevant activities of 2024, the regiment organized the “Mountain Warfare” courses in the winter and summer versions, held respectively at the Passo del Tonale area and among the cliffs of the Belluno Dolomites. These courses were crucial to develop and increase technical skills in high mountain environments, with a particular focus on the conditions of movement, combat and survival in icy and hostile environments.

The year also saw participation in the exercises “Volpe Bianca 2024”, “Extreme Patrol 2024” and “Stella Alpina 2024”. The first was an important opportunity to test the regiment’s tactical and operational capabilities in complex winter scenarios. The second, instead, evaluated the technical and operational training in medium mountain environments, allowing the platoons of the 7th regiment to stand out for their preparation and tenacity.

The “Stella Alpina 2024” exercise, which took place at Lake Fedaia on the slopes of the Marmolada, had as its main objective to test and demonstrate the new technological and operational capabilities of the Italian Army in a multi-domain context, integrating land, air, sea, space and cyberspace components.

Furthermore, the 7th Regiment took part in the exercise “Val Natisone 2024”, aimed at preparing for theAllied Response Force (ARF), in which the regiment will be included starting from the second half of 2025. This activity took place in the area of the occasional polygon of Monte Bivera, characterized by a highly compartmentalized environment and a harsh climate.

In addition to these strictly training activities, the 7th Alpine Regiment was also involved with its units in the operation Safe Roads, supporting the police forces in the cities of Milan and Brescia and still ensuring the safety of the TAV construction site at the Chiomonte (TO) site.

This year of intense activity ends with the awareness that continuous training and education among the various units of the Army, and in particular of the Alpine Brigade "Julia", are essential elements to effectively face future challenges.
