With the start of the disembarkation operations and the start of the first integration training activities, at the training area of Al Ghalail, with the Qatar units the NASR 2019 exercise began which will see the brigade Garibaldi, and other Army assets, to train with the 2 ^ Brigade of the Qatari Land Forces.
The exercise represents the culminating moment of an intense activity of cooperation between the two countries that, in strengthening the mutual relations of friendship and collaboration, have started an intense exchange of visits and joint trainings that will see their culmination in the performance of a complex tactical activity conducted by heavy units in a desert environment with the use of multi-resource Task Force and Command Posts that will operate in an integrated manner in a conventional scenario.
The main purpose of this important training event is to increase the level of integration and interoperability of the units, refining both the procedures to be implemented in the Command Posts area and the procedures for using the units involved.
The importance of the NASR 2019 is not limited to the training event, but also represents an important training opportunity for the Army that has seen the various staff plan and organize a structured training event also from a logistical point of view, given the 3800 km that separate Italy from Qatar, and administrative in the drafting of complex technical agreements between the parties.
The NASR 2019 will see operations on the ground, for about 20 days 800 Army soldiers and 1.400 Qatari soldiers using "Ariete" tanks, "Centauro" armored vehicles, PZH 2000 self-propelled vehicles, MLRS, VTLM "Lince", VTMM "Bear ”And VBL“ Freccia ”as well as Force Protection assets and battlefield surveillance.
