The 120-seat Covid-Hospital Hub is born at Celio

One hundred and twenty beds, of which 30 intended for intensive or sub-intensive therapy, will be set up in a very short time, in the next two weeks, at the Celio Military Polyclinic in Rome, the new hub which will become the center of reference for anti Covid-19 in central Italy. A specific structure with a capacity for hospitalization and care that will subsequently be implemented up to 150 places, 50 of which for intensive or sub-intensive therapy.
The initiative is part of a long-established collaboration between the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health and the Lazio Region.

This morning the inspection took place to check the state of work already started by Defense Minister Lorenzo Guerini and Health Minister Roberto Speranza at the Military Policlinic, converted to meet the epidemiological emergency.

"On the basis of the indications that Minister Speranza provided to the whole country, the Defense and the Celio Military Policlinic responded promptly to the need to develop a Covid Hospital network, which represents a priority not only now that we are still in the acute phase. , but also in the future. Within the strong choices that the Government has made in recent months, prescribed by the scientific community, there has always been the contribution of the Defense. The Armed Forces are called to carry out their work for the protection of institutions and when the country calls they always respond with a deep sense of duty. I thank the military doctors and nurses working here at Celio, where we have decided to dedicate spaces for the fight against Covid-19, and all those who work on the front line where there is is the emergency ". So said Minister Guerini.

The medical material and equipment will be provided by the commissioner structure of Dr. Arcuri appointed by the Government for the implementation and coordination of the measures for the containment and contrast of the Covid-19 emergency, while the Ministry of Defense will contribute to the financial expenses through a contribution provided by "Defense Services", in-house company of the Ministry.
