The training course has concluded at the “Aosta” training base in Piazza Armerina, in the province of Enna.“Attachement platoon size element to conduct urban infantry training and operations in a mountain environment”, a bilateral exchange activity between the Italian and Maltese Armies on combat procedures in urban areas and in mountain environments, with the participation of specialized instructors from the 62nd Infantry Regiment “Sicilia” and a platoon of the Armed Forces of Malta (AMF).
The first week of training was based on the alternation of theoretical and practical activities, from the techniques of Military Combat Method procedures for carrying out operations in urban environments, both day and night, through the use of the “Simunition” marking warhead simulation system and the latest generation night vision systems in use by the Italian Army. The second week of training was aimed at acquiring the ability to live, move and operate in environments characterized by particularly harsh climates, carrying out patrolling activities on the paths of the Etna volcano, dealing with significant differences in altitude and overnight stays at high altitude.
The goal was to improve the physical preparation, individual combat training and basic technical-tactical skills of an infantry platoon, through complete and rigorous training that allows you to manage every situation with precision and promptness. This allows you to stay up to date on the latest technologies and procedures, ensuring the highest standards of safety and competence on par with other nations.
