Volunteers are sworn in Ascoli

Last Friday, in Ascoli, 561 One Year Fixed Volunteers of the 235 ° Piceno Volunteer Training Regiment of the 4 Block 2013 took an oath of loyalty to the Italian Republic.

At the ceremony, held in the Piazza d'Armi of the barracks "Clementi" in the presence of the War Flag of the Regiment, decorated with a Silver Medal for Military Valor and Cross of the Military Order of Italy, was attended by the Commandant for Formation and Army Application School, Army Corps General Alessandro Montuori who, accompanied by the Commander's Army Training Unit Commander, Brigadier General Gabriele Toscani De Col, reviewed the troops.

During the ceremony, which was attended by the Prefect of Ascoli Piceno, Dr. Graziella Palma Maria Patrizi, the Mayor, Avv. Guido Castelli, the Vice President of the Province, Dr. Pasqualino Piunti, as well as numerous representatives of the Institute of Nastro Azzurro and Combat and Weapon Associations, General Montuori emphasized the meaning of discipline, "which becomes self-discipline, if internally shared, that is, acceptance of the rules and adherence to the values ​​to which every soldier should be inspired", on importance of respect "which must be reciprocal" between soldiers and commanders and urged the young Volunteers to "trust their own commanders and in the future, showing that they are profoundly optimistic".

The Regiment Commander, Colonel Aniello Santonicola, has instead recalled the sense of duty, which "must be our sextant and our compass, which always shows us in which direction we must go. It manifests itself in everyday life, in the consistency of the conduct of one's actions, which requires us to make the most useful choice for the Institution even if it is less favorable for us ". The 4 Volunteers block 2013, formally acquired today the status of one-year Pre-Fixed Volunteers, the basic training period will be completed in the coming weeks before being transferred, the February 27, to the operational units of the Armed Forces ".
