The ceremony for the awarding of the rank of second lieutenant to the one hundred and fifty-three attendees of the 204th “Volontà” course took place in the Courtyard of Honor of the Modena Military Academy. The event was presided over by the commander for Training, Specialization and Doctrine of the Army, General of the Army Corps Carlo Lamanna, who awarded the rank to the former regimental chief cadet Francesco Fonticelli.
The presence of the students' families who actively participated in the ceremony was particularly appreciated, by placing their rank on the new officers, demonstrating their sharing of the choice made and their pride in reaching this important goal.
Gen. Ca Lamanna, addressing the newly promoted second lieutenants, future commanders, highlighted to his young colleagues the importance of this ceremony, underlining "Today represents the milestone of your long and fascinating professional journey that awaits you. The rank entails greater responsibilities and duties towards the staff and the Institutions, always be an example and never tire of improving, of growing on a human and professional level, always ready to give the best of yourself, with genuine enthusiasm and generosity".
Subsequently, the commander of the Military Academy, Major General Davide Scalabrin, with the reading of the resolution of the Army Chief of Staff for the assignment of the Force, delivered insignia and shoulder boards, distinctive elements of the Force and the Corps to which they belong.
