Protagonists of the history of Italy and known worldwide for their characteristic feathered hat, the bersaglieri are today a specialty of the Italian Army Infantry.

Born with Regio Viglietto of 18 June 1836, signed by the King of Sardinia Carlo Alberto di Savoia on the proposal of the then captain of the guard regiment Alessandro Ferrero de La Marmora (later nicknamed by his feathered infantrymen "Papà Sandrin"), the bersaglieri have always proven profound dedication to the homeland and commendable value, from the Risorgimento campaigns to the present day.

Their constitution responded to the need to have infantry departments ... to maneuver lightly and to aim precisely ..., in fact the Bersaglieri had to have a remarkable resistance to fatigue in order to make rapid movements, excellent aim with the rifle and a remarkable intelligence; they then had to fight in scattered order to limit losses on the field. Shortly after their establishment, the Bersaglieri were equipped with a special purpose built carbine that was distinguished from the others by being lighter and with a faster shot.

Today's bersaglieri confirm with their day-to-day work the value and self-sacrifice of their predecessors both abroad, where they have been protagonists in various international peace missions such as in Lebanon, Somalia, Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, both in the homeland where even the "crimson flames" like all the other soldiers of the Italian Army have given their precious contribution to contrast and contain the spread of Covid19.

In addition, the bersaglieri brigade Garibaldi, after a period of six months, he has recently given up the leadership of the "Lazio-Abruzzo" group as part of the operation Safe Roads, obtaining flattering results above all in guaranteeing the safety of the citizens of the capital.

Modern soldiers and technologically in step with the times, as well as custodians of noble traditions, handed down from generation to generation, such as the fast and running pace (at 140 and 180 steps respectively), with their Fanfares, the targeting regiments never fail to attract the attention of many citizens who admire their enthusiasm and enthusiasm as they pass by.

Characteristic of their uniform is the so-called Fez, a typical crimson-colored headdress with cord and blue tassel called "Ricciolina" which draws its origins in Crimea (Battle of the Cernaia, 1855) where the Zouaves, chosen departments of the French expeditionary force , excited by the valor of the bersaglieri, they donated their hats as a sign of admiration.

Valiant soldiers with a great spirit of the Corps, the bersaglieri, always faithful to the decalogue of their founder, represent a solid point of reference for all Italians since they have always worked for the good of the country!
