In recent days, at the Historical Library ofMilitary Geographical Institute (IGM) in Florence, the press conference was held to present the events organized to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the IGM, a body of the Army that operates under the military command of the capital.
Major General Pietro Tornabene, commander of the institute, greeted the civil and military authorities present and then highlighted: is a journey that began in recent months with our information conferences at prestigious Italian universities, headquarters of geographical associations and bodies of the Army. On September 25th, we hosted the opening event of the final part of these celebrations, giving us something special. In the presence of the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio GIANI and the Prefect of Florence Valerio Valenti, the “Grand Geographic Concert of the Florence Rossini Philharmonic Orchestra”.
From tomorrow, therefore, a series of initiatives, also open to citizens "They will further strengthen the relationship between our institution and the splendid city that has hosted us for more than 150 years" General Tornabene concluded.
