The 15th national meeting of theAmphibious Troops Association (HIGH).

The event, which saw a notable influx of participants from all over the country, formally began with the flag-raising ceremony and continued with the display of the highly decorated War Flag of the “Serenissima” lagoon regiment, a representative company of the department, the Blue Ribbon Labarum, the National Medal Collection and the sections of the Lagunari Amphibious Troops Association.

The lagoon soldiers, custodians of the glorious traditions of the Fanti da Mar of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, are specialized in operating in "internal waters" in the classic "riverine" operations (rivers, lakes and lagoons) and at sea, in the context of classic amphibious operations, carrying out the typical tasks of amphibious assault infantry in diversified operational contexts.

Gen. Masiello greeted all the "Green Berets" gathered, highlighting that “the specialty, although the youngest of the infantry corps, has its roots in a past rich in passion, enthusiasm and glory.
A specialty - continued the head of SME - that prepares its soldiers to bravely face the worst situations through challenging and realistic training; a dynamic, flexible specialty, capable of thinking outside the box, keeping up with the times and adapting quickly to new, highly complex and competitive scenarios. Your incessant and qualified commitment - concluded Gen. CA Masiello - pursues the highest objectives of defense and security of the country, in full continuity with our history and in implementation of the cardinal principles of our Constitution".

During the ceremony, accompanied by the music of the Fanfare of the “Pozzuolo del Friuli” Cavalry Brigade, the greeting messages of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella and the Minister of Defense, the Hon. Guido Crosetto, were read.

Among the other authorities present, numerous parliamentarians from the Veneto-Friuli area, the commander of the Northern Operational Forces, General of the Army Corps Maurizio Riccò, the mayor of Palmanova Giuseppe Tellini, the division general Arturo Nitti, dean of the lagoon specialty, the national president of ALTA, Pierangelo Zanotti, the commander of the “Pozzuolo del Friuli” cavalry brigade, Brigadier General Nicola Mandolesi, and the commander of the “Serenissima” lagoon regiment, Colonel Ivan Falasca.
