The ceremony for the delivery of the amaranth beret to the students of the 93rd parachuting course, which allows aspiring paratroopers to enter the ranks of the “Folgore” parachute brigade, took place in the parachuting gym of the Gamerra Barracks.
The initial-service volunteers, after twelve weeks of training at the various volunteer training regiments (RAV), were transferred to Pisa for the Combat Techniques Course for Airborne Troops (CTCA) lasting a total of ten weeks.
They then completed another four weeks of airdrop training, including the airdrop activity required to qualify as military parachutist.
The ceremony for the delivery of the amaranth beret was held in the presence of the commander of the skydiving training center (CAPAR), Colonel Antonio D'Agostino and the commander of the "Folgore", Brigadier General Federico Bernacca. Over 800 family members attended the ceremony.
The new paratroopers received permission to wear the coveted amaranth beret for the first time with a heartfelt invitation from the CAPAR commander “Be worthy! Serve your country with courage, honor, and long-term commitment to earn your self-respect. Be Paratroopers!”
