"Always and everywhere, with self-sacrifice he lavished his value, his expertise, his blood, helping the infantry, in a wonderful race of heroisms, the troubled path of victory for the greatness of the country", with this motivation the Italian Army Artillery Weapon won its third Gold medal for its valiant behavior in military events between 15 and 23 June 1918, which went down in history as Battle of the Solstice, during which, with an intelligent and courageous action, the Italian Artillery anticipated the attack of the Austro-Hungarian army, hitting the opposing vital areas with precision and becoming decisive for the victory of the 2nd Battle of the Piave, the first achieved in 1918 by an army of the Entente, thus preluding to the success of the conflict.

Strengthened by its noble and heroic heritage, today's Artillery ranks unquestionably among the most modern and technologically advanced weapons of the Italian Army, which with its two components on Earth and Counter Aircraft has been able to grasp the challenges and the need for renewal of the our times, becoming a crucial pawn in the context of operations conducted in Italy and abroad.

Artillery therefore constitutes an undisputed excellence in rapid and continuous evolution in which technology, creativity and tradition are perfectly combined, developing new capabilities such as Counter - APR (remotely piloted aircraft) or that of defense and prevention from threats CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear), which proved extremely useful even during the emergency just experienced.

As part of the activities aimed at containing and countering the spread of Covid-19, assets of the 7th CBRN "Cremona" defense regiment were used for the conduct of specialized activities in support of the Ministry of Health and the Civil Protection Department in the provinces most affected on the national territory.

The men and women of the Artillery, always ready to glimpse in every challenge, an opportunity to improve themselves, are now also employed in the "Safe Roads" operation in various regions of Italy and in various missions abroad, such as for example in Kosovo, where the artillerymen of the 17th "Sforzesca" anti-aircraft regiment, framed in the West Regional Command of KFOR stationed in Peč / Pejë, carry out important activities to ensure continuous contact with the population, local government institutions, organizations national and international, political parties, and representatives of the different ethnic groups and religions present in the area, in order to acquire elements of knowledge useful to the KFOR Command for carrying out its mission, ensuring a safe and stable "environment".

The Artillery regiments, strengthened by their centuries-old traditions, constitute an important resource both for their peculiar abilities and for their ability to look to the future by combining technology, intelligence, heart and daring, always and everywhere at the service of the country!
