The initiative of the Navy had the purpose of allowing the autonomous supply of the materials needed for shipbuilding.
At the time of the foundation the Navy will pay the new company 12 millions of lire, without interest, in advance on future supplies of armor for its units.
The president of the company is Vincenzo Stefano Breda, cousin of Ernesto, founder of Breda Mechanical Workshops.
