23 April 1913: Fire aboard the fourth explorer

In Naples aboard the explorer Quarto at the dock in the naval base at the pier San Vincenzo, a furious fire developed in the forward oil depot that puts a strain on the crew and personnel of the base to limit its extension and extinction.

The lieutenant Andrea Bafile, immediately rushed, putting his life at risk, manages to reach the depot of ammunition and flood it by isolating the room from the fire and thus preventing the outbreak of the bullets. For his daring and courageous action he will be awarded the silver medal for military valor.
