World Rowing Cup: 5 medals for Navy athletes

In the III test of the World Rowing Cup the Navy brings home five medals: gold with Antonio Vicino (with 4 PL) and four silver with Luca Parlato, Cesare Gabbia, Salvatore Manfrecola and Vincenzo Abbagnale (with 8+)

From 4 to 6 June 2021, international rowing made a stop in Sabaudia in Rowing Center of the Navy.

After 43 years from the historic Bertocco Trophy, the Pontine city has returned to breathe a competitive atmosphere of the highest level, where the last official regattas were held in anticipation of the Tokyo Olympics.

317 athletes from 25 nations for a total of 147 crews. 84 regattas of which 13 Olympic specialty finals. Italy competed in the waters of Lake Paola with 98 rowers, among these 8 athletes are of the Italian Navy.

The event, supported by the Lazio Region, the municipality of Sabaudia, the province of Latina, CONI and FIC and broadcast live on "world wide" television, saw the full support of the Navy towards the Organizing Committee.

In fact, from Mareremo Sabaudia, the full collaboration of military personnel and the total arrangement of the facilities of the Center were given, from the Piave barracks to the "boat house", where delegations from all over the world were welcomed.
