The XXXII edition of the event kicked off today in Modena. Inter Academies Tournament. Sporting event in which 250 athletes from the Military Academy of Modena, the Naval Academy of Livorno, the Air Force Academy of Pozzuoli and the Academy of the Guardia di Finanza of Bergamo take part.
The cadets compete in various disciplines that characterize the academy's training path: athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball and precision shooting.
Il Inter Academies Tournament It is a sporting event organized by the highest military training institutes, introduced by the will of the Defense General Staff in 1967. It is hosted, every two years, by the various Academies, which take turns in organizing the event, which begins with an opening ceremony, during which the "athlete's oath" is read, and ends, after five intense days, with the awards ceremony, in which the "Challenge Trophy" will be awarded to the winning Academy, which will keep the historic prize until the next edition.
The days are not only characterized by sports competitions, but also by moments of comparison and sharing between all participants, constituting a useful opportunity to consolidate relationships between cadets of all military academies.
The XXXII edition is hosted in the historic setting of the Modena Military Academy, in Palazzo Ducale, which for over 160 years has been home to the oldest military training institute in the world.
