Army Sports Group Athletes Gathering: Successes, Values ​​and Future Prospects

Al Army Olympic Sports Center (CSOE) the traditional gathering of athletes of the Army sports group (CSE), on the occasion of the exchange of Christmas greetings.

During the event, in the presence of the head of the V department of the Army General Staff, Major General Marco Longo, the commander of the CSOE took stock of the results achieved in 2024, a year that saw the military win four Olympic medals: two golds, one silver and one bronze.

In his speech, General Longo underlined the importance of the values ​​shared by athletes and soldiers, such as sacrifice, resilience, tenacity and respect for the rules and the opponent, of which military athletes are the greatest interpreters with their commitment to athletic training and the sports competitions in which they participate.

A commitment that in 2024 was also realized outside the competition fields, with participation in initiatives with high social and educational value such as the "Army and Sport" events in Caivano and the "Champions of Life" project, in collaboration with theBullying Observatory, to combat this phenomenon and youth hardship in schools. In conclusion, the programmatic activities for 2025 were brought forward, which include, among other innovations, greater investments in the Armed Forces' sports facilities, the recruitment of athletes in new disciplines and the establishment of youth sectors within the Army's sports group. On the sidelines of the event, awards were given to athletes who reached the podium in national and international competitions.

Today was a moment that consolidated not only the bond between athletes and military institutions, but also the team spirit and sense of belonging, which are essential for future goals.

The CSOE is one of the four souls of the Army sports center, together with the Courmayeur sports department for winter sports, the competitive department of the Montelibretti military riding center for equestrian sports and the sports department of the Pisa parachuting training center for airborne sports.
