The armed forces at the second event of the six nations of rugby

The Armed Forces will be present at the 6 Nations Rugby Tournament on the occasion of the match between Italy and Ireland which will take place on Sunday 24 February 2019 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome at 16.00. The event will see the participation of the Armed Forces with athletes from military sports groups and the Paralympic Defense Sports Group (GSPD).

The soldiers of the Armed Forces will enter the field before the start of the match with the flags of the participating nations on the notes of the national anthems of the teams in the field performed by the Fanfare of the Carabinieri. The Armed Forces will also be present with an information stand at the Stadio dei Marmi of the Foro Italico, the "Hospitality Village", to experience the atmosphere of the "Third Time" from 10:00 to 20:00.

It is an opportunity for contact with the public, as well as a meeting between the world of sport and the military. Loyalty, courage, friendship and respect for the opponent are the values ​​that every rugby player learns about on the playing field, the same values ​​that inspire the work of the men and women of the Armed Forces, daily at the service of community in Italy and abroad.
