From 5 to 7 March, the Absolute Italian Indoor Diving Championships were held at the "Bruno Bianchi" swimming facility in Trieste, which awarded the titles of Italian Winter Champion in the different disciplines.
The competition, which is among the most important and awaited in the national calendar, saw the presence - in full - of the athletes and technicians of the Marina Militare Sports Group in the diving sector. The preparation for participation in the event required great commitment, determination and perseverance in our men (taking place in the not simple pandemic context), but the results obtained unequivocally show the quality of the work done.
Conquer two gold medals from the 1 meter and 3 meter springboard Lorenzo Marsaglia, confirming himself as the strongest in Italy.
Deserved bronze in the 1 meter springboard for Tommaso Rinaldi, who managed to snatch the medal from the Fiamme Oro diver at the end of a hard-fought head-to-head.
Another Italian title from the Gruppo Sportivo Marina Militare goes to Sarah Jodoin Di Maria who wins from the 10-meter platform with a flawless test and that left no room for errors. Also from the platform, our athlete together with Tommaso Zannella (MR Sport), gets a silver in the mixed synchronized.
Tommaso Rinaldi and Gabriele Auber close to victory in the 3-meter synchronized. The two athletes (already medalized at the CISM World Championships in Whuan 2019), prepared by our technicians Nicola and Tommaso Marconi, are already working on preparing for participation in the next Italian Summer 2021 and European Championships in Rome 2022.
Gabriele Auber graduated as vice Italian champion paired with the army athlete Elena Bertocchi in the specialty of mixed synchronized dives from the 3-meter springboard.
The fourth position of the Sc Pallotta, obtained from the 10-meter platform, also closed the excellent trip to Trieste.
Congratulations to the athletes, technicians and staff of the Marian Militare Sports Group who, thanks to the successes achieved, obtains the important third place in the team standings in an absolute national championship.
