9 medals ended with the Paralympics Defense Sports (GSPD) adventure at Invictus Games in Toronto. One gold, five silver and three bronze. These are the awards won by the Italian Team in this third edition of the Games; a well-nurtured edition if we think of the 550 athletes present, coming from well 17 nationality.

For the Italian Team to win the first medal, the first silver, was Lieutenant Colonel EI Giuseppe Campoccio in the cast of weight to clashed categories. Campoccio is the same to win the second day of the gold race in the disc launch. A second day of races that also sees the silver of the chief caporal elected EI, Pilgrim Caputo, in the cast of weight. On the third day of races, the bronze of Major Major CC Loreto Di Loreto arrives in the handbike time trial. And Di Loreto is the same to win on the fourth day two silver medals: one in online cycling and one in rowing. The emotions continue and the last two races of the race arrive with the bronze of Lieutenant Colonel AM, Fabio Tomasulo, in the individual bow and bronze racing competition, in the same specialty, in the team competition, where they also competed with Tomasulo lieutenant colonel EI Roberto Punzo and Major Marshal CC Bonaventura Bove. The Italian medalists close the lieutenant colonel AM, Marco Iannuzzi, in the free 50 meters style.

"Extraordinary! A goal that makes me uncomfortable both as their commander and as an Italian citizen. Demonstration of how sport is therapeutic and how much these athletes are driven by great motivation and out of common determination. They have shown themselves true captains of their soul"Are the words expressed by the Chief of Defense, General Claudio Graziano.

Captains of their soul, as a passage from the poem recites "Invictus"By William Ernest Henley. Men and women who have found a second chance in sports; athletes ready for revenge, redemption to that life that in a moment has changed. It is to them that the thought of Lieutenant Colonel Marco Iannuzzi who, after winning the silver, in a post writes:I devote this medal ... from the depths of the heart to the whole GSPD and to all colleagues who have not yet found the way to get in touch after a traumatic event. I hope that all we are doing can enthusiastically and curiously".
