There are seven sailors under the al Remiero Sports Center of the Navy who competed for the Olympic rowing team in the third stage of the World Cup in Switzerland.

Gabriel Soares stands out who, on a boat with Pietro Ruta (Fiamme Oro), conquers the highest step of the podium and adds gold to the palmares of Italy in the Olympic specialty of Double Lightweight.

Great placings also for Salvatore Monfrecola (class '97), Nunzio Di Colandrea (class '99) and Davide Verità (class '00) who, despite their young age, prove to be up to the task by hitting the final in the Olympic specialty of Four Without light blue.

Eighth place overall for the Rio Olympic champion, Giovanni Abagnale, in the hard-fought Two Without male.

And, with the fifth place in the final in the flagship specialty of the Otto with, pushed by the sailors Vincenzo Abbagnale and Cesare Gabbia, this year's World Cup experience ends for the Navy.

But the international appointments do not end. The next step will be in August, in Monaco (GER), where our athletes will compete for Italy in the Absolute European Championship and then in September in the Absolute World Championship in the city of Racice (CZE).
