Canoe Slalom: Stefanie Horn on the roof of Europe

Athlete Stefanie Horn won the gold medal at the European Canoe Slalom Championships, held on the Vàh river in the city of Liptovsky Mikulas (Slovakia).

Followed by the Navy technician Omar Raiba, she imposed herself on her opponents by bringing the flag to the top step of the podium, in ex aequo with the Slovakian Eliska Mintalova.

The sailor under al Competitive Sports Center by Maristaeli Luni, based in Sarzana (La Spezia), had given high hopes already from the qualifying races, finishing in third place in the timed standings. He still improves his performance in the semifinals, stopping the clock on the best time ever, thanks to an impeccable race conduct.

In the final race, despite a strong wind, he managed to repeat himself and thus conquer the European title.

"Great satisfaction for the medal of our athlete who won in Europe, demonstrating that the best results can be achieved with will and commitment" commented the chief of staff of the Navy, team admiral Enrico Credendino.

Tomorrow, May 29th, it will be the turn of the Canadian slalom specialty and of the sailor Raffaello Ivaldi, already fourth classified in the European Slalom Championships of 2021, who, after passing the qualifying race with an excellent performance, will be busy in the semifinals where only the first ten times will be able to access the final.
