The 2025 edition of the “Regimental Championships” has concluded, entirely organised and hosted at the sports facilities of the Military Riding Center.
The large participation confirmed the success of the 2024 edition, bringing together at the “mother house” pairs from departments, training institutes of the army, navy, carabinieri, as well as a foreign delegation of Hungarian “hussars”.
During the two intense days of the event, over 100 participants challenged each other in a spirit of brotherhood in demanding tests, with difficulties calibrated to their level. The goal was to demonstrate the fruits of the training carried out at military equestrian centers and, above all, to strengthen the sense of belonging and team spirit among the mounted units.
In addition to the “Invito”, “Brevetto” and “1st degree” categories, this edition saw the introduction of more challenging show jumping categories, reserved for the most expert pairs with 2nd degree, with obstacles up to 130 cm. Also unmissable was the choreographic “pattuglia a cavallo” pair race, in which the pairs competed in formation first in the dressage field and then on the cross country course.
The key challenge of the competition, valid for the championship, was won by the team of Military Riding Center, composed of Captain Chiara Lazzara, Selected Graduate Elisa Ranzato and Chief Graduate Chiara Olivieri. Captain Paolo Leone triumphed in the “Brevetto” category, while Chief Graduate Chiara Olivieri won in the “1st Degree” category. The patrol race saw the duo composed of Major Francesco Caracciolo and First Graduate Giuseppe Parisi prevail.
I Regimental Championships They not only represent a historical tradition linked to military equestrianism, but also constitute an unmissable event in the calendar of competitions hosted by army institutions.
The meaning of the event transcends sporting results, exalting the value of horse riding as an educational and formative discipline, capable of embodying the values of the armed forces: commitment, sacrifice and passion.
With the award ceremonies presided over by Major General Marco Longo, head of the V department of the Army General Staff, and by the 70th commander of the Military Riding Center, Colonel Marco Del Nevo, the 2025 edition has officially ended. The next appointment will be in October, with the Military Criterium dedicated to the complete competition.
