Weekend of great successes and results for the athletes of Paralympic Defense Sports Group (GSPD) that, the 19 and 20 March in Ancona, won six gold medals and scored three new Italian records for the Indoor Paralympic Athletics Championships Fisdir and Fispes.
At this end-of-winter event, the last official appointment before the European Championships to be held from 10 to 16 June next in Grosseto, the Paralympic Defense Sports Group (GSPD) was represented by four athletes who competed in the disciplines of weight-throwing, discus throwing, javelin and running on the 60-meter yards.
On the shields Lieutenant Colonel Giuseppe Campoccio, who collects three golds in the jet of weight, in the throw of the disc and the javelin. The results of the Paralympic athlete, under the GSPD, have also registered as many Italian category records in all three disciplines.
Next, two other medals in the weight throw: the first of lieutenant Pietro Suma, gold in his category, the second of the corporal Pellegrina Caputo who won the highest step of the podium in the women's race.
To conclude, finally, the corporal chosen Monica Contrafatto, who at the debut of an indoor championship asserts itself on the competitors in the 60 floor meters.
These are excellent prerequisites for the next important commitment of the GSPD, which from 8 to 12 in May will fly to Orlando, USA, for the second edition of the International Games dedicated to soldiers with disabilities "Invictus Games".
