The Chilean "Escuela de Montana" welcomed the Italian delegation that will take part in the 17 edition of the International Military Ski Championships, also valid as the first phase of the South American Biathlon Championships.

To fly in Chile were the two athletes of the national team B, the major corporal Saverio Zini and the major corporal Andrea Baretto and the two athletes of the major caporal seated team Rudy Zini and caporal major Xavier Guidetti. With them also the chief caporal technician chosen Alessandro Fiandino and the chief delegation sergeant major chief Marco Jerusel.

Already yesterday afternoon the Alpine troops were able to put their skis on, thus gaining confidence with the 2800 meters of altitude of the Chilean locality, which is 160 km from the capital Santiago.

Four races are scheduled, starting tomorrow: sprint, pursuit, mass start and patrol, the latter valid only as a military race. In between, if the physical conditions are good, the athletes will evaluate whether to take part in a cross-country 10.

In total 12 will be the nations, besides Italy, that will compete in Chilean territory: Germany, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, China, Spain, United States of America, Finland, France, South Korea, Norway and Russia.
