The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Arma dei Carabinieri have signed a memorandum of understanding to start a collaboration in the field of training of the respective personnel destined to serve in the Italian diplomatic-consular network.

The protocol was signed this afternoon in Rome, at the general command of the weapon by the general secretary of the MAECI amb. Elisabetta Belloni and the general commander gen. about Giovanni Nistri.

The agreement foresees, on the one hand, the organization by the Arma of training modules, called Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT), for the benefit of MAECI staff leaving for our embassies most at risk. The aim is to provide basic knowledge useful for dealing with dangerous situations (attacks, kidnappings, etc.) and orienting oneself in difficult environments (notions of first aid, operation of radio and satellite phones, etc.).

On the other hand, the MAECI will organize information seminars on the structure and functioning of diplomatic and consular representations for the personnel of the Arma intended to guarantee the safety of our offices abroad.
