Today at the Army Palace, the Defense Chief of Staff, General Enzo Vecciarelli, delegated by Mr. Minister of Defense, and the National Anti-Mafia and Counter-Terrorism Prosecutor, Dr. De Raho, signed the Memorandum of Understanding aimed at initiating, between the Ministry of Defense and the National Anti-Mafia and Counter-Terrorism Directorate, an exchange and sharing of information useful for reconstructing the modus operandi of traffickers, in particular those of human beings, in court.
These issues are increasingly imposing themselves on the agendas of European countries that ask for interventions aimed at an ever greater protection of the security and stability of the territories.
The planning has been developed and the end state has been achieved, thanks to a tight teamwork that has seen protagonists for the Operational Command of Vertice Interforze (COVI), which has been entrusted with the lead of the project, the corps general Army Portolano, former commander of COVI, air squad general Frigerio, current commander of COVI, team admiral Bisconti, chief of staff of COVI, divisional general Cataldo, head of general legal affairs office of the defense staff, general Del Bene air division, COVI operations department head, lawyer Federica Mondani, lieutenant colonel of the reserve of the defense staff.
The Protocol, on which the guarantor for the protection of personal data was also consulted, will have a duration of 5 years and may be renewed or extended by agreement of the parties.
The agreement represents one of the latest measures desired by General Vecciarelli and will testify how the coordination and collaboration between various, so important, bodies and institutions of our country can, and should, be considered an absolute indispensable value, for a healthy and effective administration attentive to higher national and international interests.
