UNIFIL: ITALAIR intervention for a health emergency

The ITALAIR Task Group, a flight unit operating under the UNIFIL mission, has successfully completed a personal transport mission in a health emergency in favor of a blue helmet of French nationality affected by serious illness.

The peacekeeper in health emergency, once transported by land to Naqoura, was embarked on the AB-212 by the French AMET (Air Medical Evacuation Team), which works together with the staff of the 42 ° Task Group ITALAIR, and immediately transported to the St. George hospital in Beirut.

The operational readiness of the staff of the 42 ° Task Group ITALAIR and of the French medical team has allowed the patient to be stabilized with a precise and timely intervention. The excellent team work is also the result of the joint training activities carried out previously which allowed the mission to be carried out safely and effectively, making a decisive contribution to safeguarding the life of the French colleague.

The ITALAIR Task Group, commanded by the ten. with the. pilot Maurizio Sabbi, continuously supports from the 1979 the United Nations mission in Lebanon, guaranteeing the personal transport service for 24 health emergencies hours on 24 in the entire Operation Area, but also carrying out reconnaissance, research, transport and missions flights to support of the local population.
