Hungary: NATO Noble Imperat exercise concluded

The men and women of the Alpine Brigade Taurinense, deployed on the southeastern flank of the Atlantic Alliance for over three months now as part of the "Enhanced Vigilance Activity" (eVA) operation, conducted an important opposing party combat exercise planned entirely by the command of the battle group and conducted in an environment characterized by CBRN risk (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) as well as by the presence of an enemy air threat.

The NATO eVA Battlegroup, with over 1000 military personnel, employed the Italian component based on the Alpine brigade on the occasion of the "Noble Imperat" exercise. Taurinense (3rd regiment Alpini, Nice Cavalry, 1 ° Terrestrial art, 32 ° Damers), the American component part of the 101 ^ airborne division, the Croatian assets of Military Police and IEDD (Improvised Explosive Device Disposal) and the Hungarian components of air defense and CBRN.

The exercise, lasting 7 days, 3 of which of continuous external activity, saw the units of battle group to brake and block, through the combined use of aerial fire, artillery, heavy mortars and counter-tank missiles, as well as active and passive obstacles created by engineering units (anti-tank minefields, ditches, embankments) an attacking enemy unit , to then carry out, through the armored cavalry component and the infantry units, a counterattack against the opposing forces.

In the area of ​​operations fixed-wing aircraft assets such as American F-18 and rotary-wing such as Hungarian Mi-24 attack helicopters, which used their ordinary ammunition on the targets indicated by the Italian JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) teams , Hungarians and Americans lined up on the ground.

Also decisive was the support of the air defense and CBRN defense units which guaranteed, in view of the complete interoperability of the multinational assets of the battle group, respectively, protection from attacks from the third dimension by enemy drones and aircraft as well as from attacks through the use of chemical agents.

However, with the end of the "Noble Imperat" exercise, the operational and training activities of the NATO eVA battlegroup deployed in Hungary, an integral part, together with the other 7 battle group multinationals joked in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria, of measures to strengthen the posture of the Atlantic Alliance on the east flank, with a deterrent and defense mission.
