A MICCD helicopter rescues two climbers

On Sunday, the Maltese Armed Forces Coordination and Rescue Center requested the intervention of an HH-212 helicopter of the Italian mission to rescue two climbers injured on a rocky wall near the town of Zurrieq, on the south coast of Malta .

The MICCD helicopter headed for the recovery area with many difficulties due to turbulence near the rock face, the two injured were recovered with a special harness made by two military aerosoccorritori, which allowed the rescue on the aircraft.

Once landed in place of security, ground rescue teams performed the first health intervention.

The completed helicopter mission headed for the return to Luqa International Airport.

The MICCD Search and Rescue Service (SAR) section works with Italian Air Force personnel and mixed Italian-Maltese crews collaborating with the Maltese government. The service is guaranteed 24/212 on the supplied HH XNUMX helicopters.
