The Italian National Support Element (IT-NSE) and the Cellula Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) of IT - NSE Somalia, have donated medicines to two Mother Child Health Centers (MCH) in the city of Mogadishu.

MCHs are small and medium-sized health facilities at the district level, which provide free health care, including specialist, to women during pregnancy, childbirth and in the care of new mothers and their children up to the age of 6. In addition, the MCHs ensure basic medical care for the entire population and vaccination campaigns.

The ceremony was attended by the Mission Force Commander of EUTM - Somalia Brigadier General Antonello De Sio, the commander of the IT - NSE Lieutenant Colonel Licio Dettori, the District Commissioners of the Districts of Hodan and Yaqshid and the two Directors of the Mother Child Health Center subject of the donation. The District Commissioners and the Directors of the two health structures thanked the Italian Contingent for the constant support provided to their fellow citizens.

The donation is aimed at supporting, as far as possible, the medical activities carried out free of charge by the two health structures and is part of a wider panorama of projects in support of local authorities and the Somali population. In particular, since 2014, the operators in Somalia of the Multinational CIMIC Group, a multinational unit of the Army with inter-force value specialized in Civil Military Cooperation, have completed 92 projects relating to different sectors such as education, health, nutrition. , safety, sport, culture.
