An Italian Task Force, together with French and Finnish structures and two Irish and Malaysian platoons were the protagonists of RITEX, Reserve Integrated Tactical Exercise.

The activity, planned and coordinated by the Joint Task Force Lebanon - Sector West (unit composed mainly of soldiers of the "Granatieri di Sardegna" brigade), wanted to test the coordination and cooperation capabilities of the various assets that make up the reserve, tactically indispensable units to ensure the margin of maneuver required by the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.

The communication role played a key role, in the verification of interoperability between the various structures, also the creation of a tactical command post assigned to manage and supervise the training activities of the various joints and the nodal center of C4i activities (computer control command intelligence communication).

The comparison between contingents represented a moment of professional growth and improvement of management, interaction and cooperation skills for the peacekeepers who daily operate in an AoR (area of responsibility) of over 650 sq km between the Litani river and the Blue Line.
