Pristina: COMKFOR opens the work of the security conference

The semi-annual conference on "Security Force Assistance" (SFA) was held yesterday at the headquarters of the multinational NATO force command in Kosovo (KFOR).

The meeting, organized by the "Nato Liaison Advisory Team" (NLAT), was launched with the aim of fostering collaboration and communication between the countries belonging to the Atlantic Alliance and the non-NATO nations involved, in various ways, in the process Development of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF).

The commander of the KFOR mission, Major General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, in opening the work of the conference, stressed the need to intensify cooperation between all the actors interested in the project, in order to provide the necessary contribution to the KSF.

In particular, General Figliuolo said: "Today NATO members and partners work together with the Kosovo Security Force to develop specific projects in the field of training, training and implementation of personnel and unit capacities of the KSF, which is to intervene in support of the population and at the request of the civil authorities in response to emergency situations and civil protection which include, for example, the clearance of explosive devices, search and rescue, the management of dangerous substances and the fight fire ".

Finally, the commander of the mission reiterated that NATO's support, in accordance with the current mandate, for the Kosovo Security Force represents an important asset for public disaster interventions in favor of the entire population of the region.

The "NATO Liaison Advisory Team" is a NATO body created in July 2013 to continue, following the declaration of the full operational capacity achieved by the KSF, the assistance and consultancy work for the development of humanitarian intervention capacity in a sustainable sense, including aspects of training and training of operational and command personnel of the Kosovo Security Force.

In the organization there are also three Italians including Colonel Michele Biasiutti who holds the post of chief of staff.
