About 500 participants took part, last Sunday, in the first edition of the non-competitive run race "Run4Kosovo", organized by the Italian contingent of the Multinational Battle Group West (MNBG-W) of KFOR, in collaboration with the municipality of Pec and with the contribution of the European Union, through the "European Union Special Representative in Kosovo" (EUSR).
The foot race, held on a 5 km city route, with start and finish in the historic center of Pec, saw the participation of athletes and amateurs from different ethnic groups, including Albanian, Serbian, Bosnian and other minorities.
The sports event was also attended by high school students from the Serbian enclave of Goradzevac, the city of Pec, the soldiers of Kosovo Force and local security and police forces.
The solidarity of the participants at the sporting event, and at the same time beneficial, allowed to raise funds that will be donated to charity by the command of KFOR, for the realization of projects in favor of the local population.
The event is a clear testimony of how sport has always been a tool for integrating and sharing universal values.
At the end of the competition, the civil and military authorities present rewarded the top three winners in the male and female category, as well as the top three teams belonging to KFOR and the local Security Forces.
