Niger: course of fighting techniques

The Niger mission took place in the training area of ​​the Armèe de Terre of the Republic of Niger, the final exercise of the course of combat techniques in wooded areas in favor of the Nigerian paratroopers battalion.

The series of theoretical and practical lessons, developed over two weeks by the Mobile Training Team of the Italian Army based on the 186th "Folgore" paratrooper regiment of Siena, aimed to train the Nigerian military to conduct specific tactical actions of attack and defense in a non-permissive wooded environment.

The educational objectives achieved, aimed at expanding the knowledge and skills of the individual and the team, included movement and concealment techniques, as well as those of the "coup de main" and ambush ", also deepening the analysis of the tasks assigned to the operating unit and the planning, organization and conduct phases carried out by the commanders at the various levels.

A premise to this, the aspects related to the management of the eviction of the wounded, to the "first aid", to the problems related to improvised explosive devices, especially in the presence of civil population, were deepened during the practical phases of the course.

The course closing ceremony, with the attendance of attendance certificates, took place in the presence of the commander of the Bilateral Support Mission in Niger (MISIN), Brigadier General Claudio Dei and Colonel Major Allassan Bana Head of Planning Army General Staff of the Niger.
