Change at the top of the mission in Niger MISIN between Brigadier General Claudio Dei (transferor) and Brigadier General Marco Lant (successor).
The changeover ceremony, presided over by the Chief of Staff of the Joint Forces Operational Command (COI) Division Admiral Pier Federico Bisconti, took place at the Niamey Military Airport in the presence of the Nigerian military authorities.
In his farewell speech, gen. b. Claudio Dei focused on the training and humanitarian results achieved by MISIN, underlining in particular the collaboration developed with the Nigerian paratrooper battalion and the willingness of the Italian Armed Forces to continue on the path traced.
After recalling the importance of cooperation in the fight against the instability of the Sahel, gen. ba Lant renewed the commitment to a fruitful collaboration so that the effort made so far by the Italian contingent continues in the path of elevation of the training of the Nigerian Armed Forces and recalled the importance of the mandate assigned to MISIN and the precious synthesis of capabilities, competence and professionalism expressed by its staff.
The adm. div. Bisconti thanked the Nigerian authorities for allowing the implementation of numerous joint activities within the framework of the MISIN mission in Niger.
