Nave Thaon di Revel returns to La Spezia after the first mission outside the Mediterranean

​On January 27, Nave Thaon of Revel, returned to La Spezia after her first operational engagement away from Italian territorial waters.

The Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Vessel, the first unit of this class, in its 143 days of deployment was integrated into Operation AGENOR for a long time; it is an international activity that falls within the perimeter of the initiative European-led Maritime Situational Awareness in the Straight of Hormuz (EMASoH), which has the objective of safeguarding the freedom of navigation and the safety of ships in transit, detecting any illegalities and guaranteeing the compilation of the Maritime Situational Awareness (MSA).

In line with the concepts of flexibility, adaptability and modularity with which it was conceived, in the months of November and December the Thaon of Revel took part in Operation ORICE, the result of bilateral agreements with Qatar. In this context, the crew played a key role in establishing and maintaining a robust security framework during the unfolding of the football world championships, as well as contributing to exporting the image of professionalism and national pride abroad .

With the mooring in its port of assignment, the ship's mission officially came to an end Thaon of Revel. The many family members present, proudly proud and visibly excited, were able to embrace their loved ones again.
