Having completed the RIMPAC and Pacific Dragon exercises, held in the Pacific Ocean, the multipurpose offshore patrol vessel Montecuccoli, left Hawaii to reunite with the carrier strike groups of the Navy, integrating, from 16 August, into the national system together with the aircraft carrier Cavour and to the multi-mission and multi-role frigate Alpine for the operational campaign in the Indo-Pacific.
The naval device, composed of the 3 units of the naval team, includes a total of 1200 people, 15 aircraft, including 2 F-35Bs of the Italian Air Force to consolidate the capacity expeditionary sea based of Defense, and 4 helicopters. The specialist personnel of the marine brigade complete the CSG Saint Mark, the operating group divers, of the Air Control and Weather Service of the Air Force and 2 officers of the British Royal Navy integrated into the staff.
