Nave Doria returns home after 120 days of intense activity in the Red Sea

An atmosphere of joy welcomed the return of Nave in Taranto Andrea Doria which has been participating in Operation since 18 July Aspides, launched by the European Union to ensure freedom of navigation in the areas of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

In approximately 120 continuous days of mission the Doria She served as the headquarters ship for the tactical command of the operation, successfully completing numerous close protection missions for merchant vessels.

Worth noting is the contribution provided to the protection of the aircraft carrier group. Cavour returning from deployment in the Indo-Pacific and the rescue of the Greek oil tanker Sounion, attacked by the Houthis on August 21st and which, with its 150 thousand tons of crude oil, has become an enormous danger for the environment and the marine ecosystem of the Red Sea

Upon returning home, the “Supercaccia” and its crew were awaited by their families, proud of their loved ones, key players in ensuring safety in rough waters like those in which the vessel operated. Doria, but crucial for national interests.​​
