On November 9, on board the patrol vessel commander Borsini in operation Gabinia, the entry of Ghana into the interior of the officially took place Trans Regional Maritime Network (T-RNM) within the project Virtual Regional Maritime Traffic Center (V-RMTC).

The signing ceremony of the Access Note, held on board the ship parked in Tema (Ghana), was celebrated in the presence of the admiral commander of the third naval division, rear admiral Valentino Rinaldi, together with the chief of the naval staff of the Navy Ghanaian Rear Admiral Issah Adam Yakubu and the Italian Deputy Ambassador to Ghana Alessandra Oliva.

The V-RMTC project was born in 2002 from the agreement sanctioned between adhering nations following the need to have a reinforcement of the safety of maritime traffic in the Mediterranean. In this context, the Navy has developed software for the exchange of information on merchant traffic approved and adopted by the other navies.

From the outset, considerable interest has been shown on the part of navies outside the Mediterranean basin, recently joined by Liberia. The signature of Notes of accession (NoA) on the occasion of 13th Trans Regional Seapower Symposium by the Liberian Navy and the subscription request from Ghana, have led to a considerable expansion of the project which, in fact, demonstrates its high importance for maritime safety.

For Ship Borsini and its crew it was a great honor and a source of pride to be able to represent and witness such an important event within the operation Gabinia.
