Borsini ship docked in Ivory Coast

ship Borsini, engaged in the Gulf of Guinea in Operation Gabinia, made a logistical stop in the port of Abidjan, on the very day that Ivory Coast joined Venice, during the Marine Symposium, to the T-RMN & V-RMTC (Trans-Regional Maritime Network and Virtual Regional Maritime Traffic Center) becoming its 38th member country.

The V-RMTC is a system consisting of a virtual network that connects the operational centres of the Navies participating in the initiative, on which unclassified information relating to merchant traffic is transmitted, collected by a HUB at the command in chief of the naval fleet (CINCNAV) and made available to all members.

Already in 2022, Ship Borsini was the protagonist and stage for the entry into this virtual system by Ghana which, right on board the Offshore Patrol Vessel and in the waters off the city of Tema, signed the 37th accession.

This demonstrates the importance of Operation Gabinia and the precious task performed by the patrol boats of the class Commanders which, in this context, continue to guarantee their direct support for the implementation of this system, whose importance, for the purposes of international interests and cooperation with foreign navies, is constantly increasing.

Furthermore, the presence of Nave Borsini in Ivorian territory it was further supported by the meetings held on board and at the local Navy headquarters, during which the foundations were "strengthened" to increase the level of mutual knowledge and cooperation between the two Navies.

Finally, the logistical stop in Abidjan was a welcome opportunity to host on board the vessel the person who represents our country on a daily basis in the Ivorian territory, namely the Italian Ambassador to Abidjan, His Excellency Arturo Luzzi, who declared himself happy and satisfied with the deep commitment and constant presence of the Italian Navy in the Ivory Coast.
