Mogadishu: CIMIC activities in synergy with PASFA

The ceremony for the donation of materials and devices for the prevention and protection from the covid-19 pandemic took place at the International Campus of Mogadishu, headquarters of the Headquarters of the EUTM Somalia mission.

The initiative, in favor of the public health facility "Mother Child Health Center Osoble" based in Mogadishu, made possible thanks to the funds raised by the "Association for Spiritual Assistance to the Armed Forces." (PASFA), has made it possible to donate surgical masks, detergent for hand sanitization, latex gloves and thermometers for instant temperature detection including spare batteries to the healthcare facility.

The EUTM-S Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General Fabiano Zinzone, the commander of the Italian National Support Element (IT-NSE), took part in the ceremony, which took place in compliance with the regulations aimed at containing the spread of the virus. Lieutenant Colonel Licio Dettori, the Commissioner of the District of Deynile, Mr. Mohamed Abukar Ali, the commander of the municipal police of Mogadishu, gen. Abdinasir, together with other local authorities.

Today's activity was carried out thanks to the precious support of the CIMIC component of the IT-NSE, made up of highly specialized personnel from the Multinational CIMIC Group based in Motta di Livenza (TV). 

The president of the "PASFA" Association, Dr. Mariagiovanna Iommi, demonstrated particular satisfaction for the excellent success of the initiative: "In this moment of great global difficulty, the generosity of the Military Ordinariate, the availability of the Command of the EUTM Somalia mission and the commitment of the Association have made this donation possible. We PASFA Members are happy to have been able to give our contribution to this beneficial initiative and we thank for all the military ordinary for Italy, ser mons. Santo Marcianó and the commander EUTM Somalia, brig.g. Fabiano Zinzone. We are close to Somali children and their families with our solidarity and our affectionate prayer ".
