Concluding ceremony of the second course for operator of Public order (OP) in favor of the Nigerien Police Force.
The course qualified 35 operators of the Nigerien Defense and Security Forces belonging to the National Gendarmerie, the Niger National Guard and the National Police.
The initiative took place at the command of the second legion of the Gendarmerie Nationale (GN) of Agadez, in the presence of the most important local authorities, including the governor of the Agadez region, Magagi Maman Dada and the sultan of Agadez, Ibrahim Oumarou Ibrahim.
During the course, carried out from 28 November to 16 December, and conducted by the instructors of the Carabinieri Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Italian Support Mission in Niger (MISIN), visitors have been trained to carry out public order control operations in respect of human rights, adopting the procedures used in Italy, in order to be able to effectively deal with real situations of disorder in which they will be called to operate in ordinary public services institute.
The local authorities expressed their sincere appreciation for the activities carried out and thanked the Italian MISIN instructors who, through their valuable skills, contribute to implementing and increasing the operations of the Nigerien Police Forces.
The activities of MISIN, born in 2018, in accordance with the cooperation agreements between the Italian Government and the Nigerian Government, are conducted under the coordination and according to the directives issued by the operational command of interforce forces (COVI).
