The Italian contingent of MISIN has donated equipment for radios, laptops, vehicles and equipment necessary for the installation of repeaters for communications.

The donation ceremony took place in the presence of Brigadier General Liberato Amadio, commander of the Italian support mission in Niger (MISIN), the deputy mayor of the municipality of Niamey III Hamadou Seydou, the commander of the Groupment National des Sapeurs Pompiers (GNSP) of Niger Colonel Mohamed Sidi and of the Italian Ambassador in Niger Emilia Gatto.

In his speech, General Amadio wanted to underline Italy's strong and constant commitment to supporting all the institutions of Niger, both in the civil and military fields.

Colonel Sidi, in his thanks, underlined how this donation will further strengthen, in operational terms, the capabilities of the GNSP, allowing its various components to monitor rescue operations and increase their intervention capabilities.

Finally, he said he was grateful to MISIN for the many initiatives it has carried out in support of the population and took the opportunity to express gratitude to the Italian Government which, through its soldiers employed in Niger, both trainers and educators and engaged in civil-military cooperation, has always shown closeness and sensitivity towards Nigerien citizens.

The activities carried out in the Operative Theater are conducted under the coordination and according to the directives given by the operational command of interforce forces (COVI), which is the Defense High Command responsible for planning, coordinating and directing military operations, national and multinational joint exercises and related activities.
