MIBIL: advanced CBRN training for the Lebanese Armed Forces

The course ended in recent days Advanced Team Level Training - Chemical Defense Module, held between Rayak and Kfarshima, organized by the European Union within the European project Technical Assistance on CBRN Risks Mitigation in Lebanon in coordination with the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL).

The advanced course, lasting 6 weeks, was conducted by a team of 5 instructors from the 7th CBRN "Cremona" defense regiment of Civitavecchia, in order to train personnel of the Lebanese Armed Forces belonging to the CBRN Company and to some investigative units of the Military Police and Counter-Terrorism.

The instructors trained the students by proposing complex risk scenarios including a terrorist attack with chemical weapons and the discovery of a clandestine laboratory for the production of specially loaded explosive devices.

The closing event was attended by Colonel Massimiliano Sforza, defense officer at the Italian embassy in Beirut, as well as Colonel Luciano Antoci, commander of the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) and Colonel Roger El Khoury, commander of the engineering regiment of the LAF in which the CBRN company is inserted.
