This morning the patrol boat of the Navy Commander Foscari, engaged in the Transaction Safe Sea (WHO), rescued 49 people aboard an overcrowded rubber dinghy and adrift in international waters, about 75 nautical miles north of Tripoli.

Given the characteristics of the vehicle and the complete absence of individual safety devices, life jackets and devices for personal protection from COVID-19 were distributed to the survivors, and were subsequently rescued aboard the Navy ship.

They are currently aboard the patrol vessel in good health.
