Latvia: “Shield & Strike” exercise concluded

The task group Baltic Italian has completed the exercise "Shield & Strike" at the training area of ​​Camp Ādaži, Latvia, as part of the NATO operation forward land forces.

The exercise, part of the training cycle planned for the achievement of the Full Operational Capability (FOC) of the multinational component, has allowed the technical-tactical procedures of the tactical group to be applied and perfected, to consolidate interoperability and to integrate the various units of the MN battle group Canadian-led.

The "Shield & Strike" engaged units and assets belonging to the contributing countries of the operation forward land forces (FLF) in Latvia for 5 days. The maneuver, developed by the multinational battle group, was carried out simulating a high intensity scenario in a context warfighting, providing for the conduct of complex tactical activities of a predominantly defensive nature against enemy units (opposing forces - OPFOR).

With the task group Baltic Italy contributes to the NATO mission forward land forces (FLF) to strengthen the principle of deterrence in the Euro-Atlantic region.
