(To Army Majority State)
27/11/24

In recent days, the military of the Baltic Task Group, engaged in the XV operational rotation, successfully completed the exercise “Resolute Warrior 24".

With the participation of over 3.500 Allied soldiers, this was the first major field exercise for the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia.

The brigade, led by Canada, includes personnel from twelve allied nations and is part of NATO's forward defense posture along Europe's eastern flank. The primary objective was to test the full operational capability of the multinational forces and the synergy between the multiple assets that make up the brigade.

From 2 to 15 November, the Italian contingent of the Baltic Task Group, composed mainly of elements of the Bersaglieri Brigade "Garibaldi", contributed to the operations, carrying out both defensive and offensive tactical maneuvers. These activities allowed to consolidate the technical-tactical procedures already developed in the previous training cycles.

The final phase of the exercise was crowned by the Distinguished Visitors Day (DV-Day), a practical demonstration of combat capabilities, held at the Training Area of Camp Ādaži. During the event, diplomatic and military representatives of NATO countries witnessed operational demonstrations of the multinational brigade, highlighting the close cooperation and effective interoperability between Allied forces.

Among the prominent figures present at the event were NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs, and Italy's Permanent Representative to NATO Marco Peronaci.

This exercise not only strengthened the bond between the Allied countries but also underlined the collective commitment to security in the Baltic region.

Italy, as a member of NATO, contributes to the Forward Land Forces “Latvia” mission through the deployment of a multi-weapon minor complex maneuver unit.
