Since last December, intense training has been conducted in the Camp Adazi exercise areas involving the personnel of the Baltic Task Group, operational component of the defense based on the Bersaglieri brigade Garibaldi, constituting the current XII rotation in NATO's "enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) Latvia" mission.

This first intense month of operation has seen the Italian contingent engaged in combat training both with individual and departmental armament and with the weapon systems peculiar to the armored component of the unit now deployed, including the "Ariete" tanks and the armored VCC 80 "Dardo", used for the first time since the beginning of the mission also during the winter period, characterized by the most severe weather conditions of the year.

The exercise activities, conducted with the contingents of the other nations present, made it possible to use the materials and weapons supplied on the snow-covered ground and learn about the potential of the allied units, laying the foundations for a complete interoperability of the multinational contingent.

A training moment was dedicated to the defense of personnel from chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) aggressive agents, with the conduct of operational decontamination activities of men, vehicles, materials and weapon systems. Also carried out firing exercises during the night through the use of lighting artifices and night vision goggles.
