Latvia: training and operational cycle completed

The multinational exercise ended in the training area of ​​Camp Ādaži and near the town of Ventspils on the Baltic Sea, about 200 kilometers from the base of the national contingent. Urban Steele.

The exercise, carried out at the end of the intense and varied training and operational cycle called "Steele Summit", contributed to raising and consolidating even more the 360 ​​° preparation of the "Penne Nere" of the Baltic Task Group within the Multinational Battle Group Latvia Canadian-led.

The articulated activity was in fact structured in two phases:

  • Urban Operations in the training area of ​​Camp Ādaži with the use of "simunition" (ammunition for training) to increase training realism; 
  • numerous fire exercises with armament, ammunition and equipment supplied to the Allied armies near the town of Ventspils.

The dual objective of the "Urban Steele" exercise, that is to confirm and strengthen the high level of integration and interoperability achieved by the Allied armies participating in the initiative Enhanced Forward Presence, has been fully achieved.

All the contingents of the Allied armies deployed in Latvia, with a view to achieving the same operational standards and ever greater and concrete interoperability, carried out shooting exercises sharing technical-tactical and command and control procedures.

In this Multinational context, the expertise achieved by the Alpine troops of Baltic Task Group during the many months of intense operational and training activities.

The 34th company "Lupi" was in fact chosen among the various components of the Battle Group Canadian-led as unit responsible for the preparation of the Urban Operations and training in this sector for the other Allied contingents.

Numerous exercises were carried out also involving the health components medic e paramedic and the Allied component of genius for the activities of breaching.
